1) What do I have to do to enjoy the services of m*Trade@CIMB?

The following are required before you can use m*Trade@CIMB facility :

  • Please register at www.itradecimb.com, create your user ID and password. You may use these ID and password to log on to your handphone to view Bursa Malaysia stock prices
  • Please open an i*Trade@CIMB share trading account. Please refer FAQs <Opening of Account> for details.

2) Do I have free trial access to m*Trade@CIMB?

Yes, you will enjoy a 30 day free trial access.

1) Can I sort the Bursa Malaysia Real-time information?

Yes, for the mobile phone version, you can sort Bursa Malaysia Real time information by selecting “Most Active”, “Top Gainer”, and “Top Loser” from the ‘Options’.

2) Can I search for specific stock only?

Yes, you can search for stock either using stock code or stock name. For stock name, you don’t have to key in the entire name but the precision of the search will depend on the number of characters you key in.

3) Can I create my favourite Stock Favourite list?

Yes, you can. You can create up to 3 favourite stock lists according to your preference.

4) How many stocks can I add in each favourite stock list?

Depending on the phone model, you may set 3 lists of 7-12 counters.

5) Can I view my mobile phone orders via www.itradecimb.com?

Yes, you can check your order status real time via this channel. All orders placed via your mobile devices, i.e. mobile phone or PDA will be displayed as “W” order in your “Order Status” screen.

6) How do I place my order should the GPRS dysfunction?

You may log-on to www.itradecimb.com and place your order online. Alternatively, you may call your dealer representative to place the order.

1) How long does it take for m*Trade@CIMB to establish connection?

m*Trade@CIMB usually takes 5-10 seconds to establish connection and is dependent on the GPRS/3G signal strength.

2) Upon initial activation of m*Trade@CIMB, how long will it take for the SMS to reach my mobile’s inbox?

You will receive the SMS in approximately 1-2 minutes.

3) What do I do when the activation code is received?

Launch the m*Trade@CIMB again. It will prompt you to key in the 5-digit authorization code. Click option and submit after entering the 5-digit authorization code.

4) What is “Pause Streaming” mode and when do I use it?

“Pause Streaming” mode can be selected by the user at anytime to pause the streaming of share price feed. m*Trade@CIMB will automatically set to “Pause Streaming” mode after 5 minutes of inactivity OR when the market is closed for trading. You can retrieve the latest price information by clicking "Refresh Once" or "Resume Streaming" again.

5) What is the difference between ’Resume Streaming’ and ’Refresh Once’? When do I use it?

These 2 options allow you to select the frequency of data refreshing. “Resume Streaming” allows you to continue receiving latest stock info streaming once every 3 seconds. Refresh Once” will update the latest price information once per click. You can switch between “Resume Streaming” and “Refresh Once” anytime to suit your needs.

6) What is the frequency of the price update on the screen?

In the Streaming mode, m*Trade@CIMB will automatically update the screen once every 3 seconds. It may take longer if the GPRS connection is weak. You also can set your own refresh time in "Setting".

7) Can I use m*Trade@CIMB when I am overseas?

Yes, you can access to m*Trade@CIMB as long as your have GPRS/3G roaming.

8) What should I choose as the Access Point when I roam overseas?

You should use the normal local Access Point even when overseas.

9) When I am on m*Trade@CIMB , can I still use my phone to make and receive phone call?

Yes, when m*Trade@CIMB is on, you can still make outgoing calls and receive incoming phone calls. Incoming and outgoing calls will automatically suspend GPRS and switch to GSM for incoming calls. When you have ended the call it will resume back to GPRS. You can also make calls while m*Trade@CIMB is active.

10) What if my mobile phone is not responding?

a) Check if your GPRS subscription is active.
b) Check if your GPRS APN setting on the phone is correctly set to Internet mode.
c) Check if you have GPRS Roaming services.
d) Check the signal strength of GPRS.
If all of the above are checked and problems still persist, check if you have sufficient memory that will be used for caching facilities. If not, remove some files or clear cache to create room. Reboot the phone.

11) What if I entered the authorization code but nothing happens?

Subject to the assumption that your GPRS connection is checked but still nothing happens, we would suggest you to visit your mobile phone provider for them to re-load the mobile phone OS. Please make sure the data on mobile phone is properly backed up.

12) Can I continue to use my existing GPRS service to trade via m*Trade@CIMB?

You can continue to use your existing GPRS service to trade via m*Trade@CIMB. Please contact i*Trade Call Centre at (603) 2084 9890 or N2N Connect HelpDesk at (603) 2171 2000 for details.

1. How much is the subscription fee?

The subscription fee for the share price feed service is RM20 per month. Please refer here <subscription form>

2) Are there any other charges for the use of this service?

Yes, you will need to pay the GPRS charges to your mobile service provider.

3) How much is the brokerage for matched orders placed via m*Trade@CIMB?

The brokerage rate will be similar to the rate charged when using internet orders.
